Key storylines for the 2026 Class 3A girls soccer season
The 2026 Utah high school girls soccer season in Class 3A kicks off next week, bringing together 15 programs spread across three regions. Fans can expect a packed schedule as teams open their campaigns with early region showdowns.
Ogden Tigers enter the new campaign as the clear favorites after a dominant 2025 campaign that ended with a 17‑2 record and the Class 3A championship. The Tigers also topped the RPI rankings and posted a stingy defense, allowing just 0.9 goals per game.
Close behind are the Carbon Dinos, who finished the previous season at 17‑3 and reached the semifinals. Their high‑scoring attack averaged 5.6 goals per game, earning the top spot in 3A offensive rankings.
Other contenders include Grantsville Cowboys, who advanced to the semifinals with a 12‑7 record, and Manti Templars, the 2025 runners‑up who fell to Ogden in the championship match. Canyon View Falcons, Richfield Wildcats and several Region 14 teams round out a deep field.
Two new coaching faces will debut in 3A this year. North Sanpete and Providence Hall each appointed a fresh head coach, adding uncertainty to their early-season performances.
RPI rankings from the previous year still provide a snapshot of strength, with Ogden at No. 1, Carbon at No. 2, Grantsville at No. 4, Manti at No. 3 and Canyon View at No. 5. Richfield sits at No. 6 after a solid Region 14 finish.
The blend of returning talent, new leadership and tight competition promises a season full of twists. As the first whistle blows, the narrative will hinge on whether Ogden can defend its crown and how the newcomers adapt to the pressure.
