A New Coach Takes the Reins
Noblesville High School announced this week that Justin Bennett will lead the varsity girls basketball program starting next season, succeeding longtime coach Donna Buckley.
Bennett, a native of the Indianapolis area, returns to the community after stints as head coach of the boys basketball team at Herron‑Riverside High School and as an assistant with the girls program at Tri‑West.
A Track Record of Excellence
During his tenure at Herron‑Riverside, Bennett guided the team to a series of winning seasons and earned Mid‑State Conference Coach of the Year honors. He also captured the Indianapolis Public Schools Coach of the Year award and was named a Top 100 Girls Basketball Coach in the Indiana/Kentucky All‑Star Series.
Athletic director Leah Wooldridge praised Bennett’s ability to raise team performance and his emphasis on fundamentals, noting that his leadership aligns with the school’s long‑term goals for the program.
The appointment comes as the Wildcats look to build on recent progress and compete more strongly within the Mid‑State Conference. Community members and alumni have expressed optimism that Bennett’s blend of experience and local ties will inspire both players and fans alike.
