Socceroof Opens in Lower Manhattan, Merging Soccer, Bar, and Community

The new venue hopes to ride the wave of World Cup excitement and engage downtown workers.

Socceroof, a new entertainment complex that blends soccer pitches with a bar and lounge, has opened its doors in Lower Manhattan, offering a fresh gathering spot for downtown workers and visitors.

A New Hub for Soccer Fans

The venue features four distinct soccer fields, ranging from compact turf courts suitable for quick pick‑up games to a larger, professionally marked pitch, each available for hourly rental.

Booking rates start at $150 per hour for the smaller fields and climb to $275 per hour for the premier arena, a pricing structure that reflects strong demand from nearby offices looking to host World Cup‑themed events.

Manager Eric Herrera, who grew up supporting Mexico, says the timing of the venue’s launch coincides with the upcoming FIFA World Cup, a tournament that he believes will amplify Socceroof’s visibility and foster a deeper local soccer culture.

Herrera notes that the venue will broadcast every World Cup match and is actively inviting the community to try out its facilities, turning the space into both a spectator hub and a participatory sports center.

The concept originated on a modest rooftop in Sunset Park before expanding to additional sites, and its current Manhattan location also draws inspiration from neighboring neighborhoods such as Crown Heights, Long Island City and even Westchester County.

Beyond the pitches, Socceroof’s full bar, lounge area and flexible event spaces allow it to host a variety of gatherings, from corporate mixers to community tournaments, positioning the venue as a multifaceted social hub.

Looking ahead, Herrera is excited about the prospect of experiencing the World Cup on home soil in North America, describing the tournament’s arrival as a bold but intriguing shift for Mexican football leadership.
