NH Combo Hoops, a Concord‑based youth basketball program that offers training, camps, clinics and an AAU team, has announced a sneaker donation drive that will run through August 14.
Community Partnership Drives Change
The campaign, organized with GotSneakers, invites players, families and community members to drop off gently used or new sneakers at Concord Christian Academy on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., or at a designated drop‑off area that is accessible at any time.
Head coach Jason Pimentel, a former NHTI standout and semi‑pro ABA player, says the effort is about more than equipment; it is about ensuring that cost does not keep any child off the court.
Pimentel works alongside Samy Abdalla, coach at Holy Family Academy, and Yann Yonkeu, a Holy Family graduate who played Division III basketball at Franciscan University, to manage the program’s 12 teams that span from third grade to varsity level.
All donated sneakers are sent to GotSneakers, where they are cleaned, repaired and either resold or recycled, with proceeds funneled back into the program to offset registration fees and equipment expenses.
Looking ahead, NH Combo Hoops plans to launch a development league this fall, hosting local jamborees and inviting teams from across the state, further expanding opportunities for young athletes in New Hampshire.
