Texas High School Baseball Honors
The Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 6A all‑state baseball team was announced this week, celebrating the standout athletes and mentors who shaped the 2026 season across the Lone Star State.
Cole Koeninger of Keller High School earned the prestigious Player of the Year award, capping a season that saw the senior dominate the mound and the plate for his squad.
Coach Doug Rush from Tomball High School was honored as Coach of the Year, recognizing his leadership in guiding the team to a remarkable campaign.
First‑Team Highlights
The first team featured a deep pool of talent, with Blake Cox from Dripping Springs, Cooper Webb from Lake Travis and Cole Koeninger from Keller anchoring the pitching staff.
Xander Thacker of Boswell earned the nod as Relief Pitcher, while Jax Robinson from Waxahachie was selected as Catcher, and Logan Brown of Keller paired with Tanner Garvin from Fort Bend Clements at First Base.
Kenson Buth from Byron Nelson took the field at Second Base, and Samuel Kennedy from San Antonio Churchill alongside Lawson Behan from Houston Lamar shared Shortstop duties.
Chase Pearrow from Waxahachie and C.J. Sampson from Tomball were recognized at Third Base, and a quartet of outfielders — Jacoby Dutchover from Midland, Luis Olmeda from Oak Ridge, Crue Collie from Midland and Matthew Ortiz from La Joya — completed the first‑team lineup.
James Jorgensen from Dallas Jesuit was selected as Designated Hitter, rounding out the offensive threats.

The second team included Connor Davenport from Keller as Relief Pitcher, Ethan Schlotterback from Lake Travis and Payton Archibald from Frenship at First Base, while Keaton Jeffcoat from Willis and Dereck Hernandez from Oak Ridge shared Second Base honors.
Brooks Kowal from Dallas Jesuit and Evan Mauritzen from Houston Memorial handled Shortstop responsibilities, and Ashten Ballew from Katy earned Third Base honors.
Outfield spots on the second team went to Zach Clark from Clear Creek, CJ Hansford from Lake Travis, Kaleb Thomas from Atascocita and Graham Charboneau from Kingwood, with Matthew Mabry from Cedar Ridge named Designated Hitter.
