Wyman entered the 2026 class as a four‑star prospect, ranking No. 41 among cornerbacks and No. 376 overall in the 247Sports composite. The Georgia native was one of four cornerbacks to sign with Miami in the latest recruiting cycle.
In his announcement, he emphasized that the decision followed extensive thought, prayer, and dialogue with people close to him, and he affirmed his intention to return to the sport at a later date.
The Hurricanes' secondary enters the season with five returning outside corners — Xavier Lucas, OJ Frederique, Ethan O’Connor, Damari Brown and Jaboree Antoine — creating a depth that limited Wyman's expected snap count as a true freshman.
Competition for the Nickel Spot
Coaches project either Omar Thornton or Bryce Fitzgerald to start at nickel corner, with the other likely shifting to safety, while Camdin Portis is being considered for the backup nickel role. This competition further reduced the pathway for Wyman to secure a prominent position.
