The first test arrives on September 5 when the Buckeyes host Ball State at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, before traveling to Austin, Texas, a week later to meet the Texas Longhorns at DKR‑Texas Memorial Stadium.
Throughout September and October the schedule weaves home contests against Kent State, Illinois, Minnesota, Oregon, Northwestern and Michigan, while road trips take the team to Iowa City, Bloomington and Lincoln for games at Iowa, Indiana and Nebraska.
A brief hiatus arrives on October 24, after which the Buckeyes resume play on October 31 against Oregon, continuing a rhythm of weekly contests that defines the regular season.
Big Ten Championship
The conference title will be decided on December 5 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, before the team turns its attention to the postseason.
Playoff pathway
Quarterfinal games are scheduled for December 18 and 19, leading to semifinals on January 14 and 15, 2027, which will be hosted by the Capital One Orange Bowl in Miami and the Allstate Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, respectively.
The national championship game will be played on January 25, 2027, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, concluding a journey that began with a modest training camp and a slate of 12 regular‑season battles.
