Camryn Hubbard, a senior at Iowa State University, has been selected for one of the most coveted summer positions in American motorsports: a 10‑week internship with NASCAR’s Next Internship Program. Out of 4,400 applicants, only 35 students earned a spot, underscoring the program’s exclusivity and Hubbard’s standout qualifications.
From the Track to the Trackhouse
During the 2025 Iowa Corn Cy‑Hawk football game, Hubbard worked as a student runner for FOX’s production team. The hands‑on experience in live broadcast partnership marketing caught the eye of NASCAR recruiters, ultimately opening the door to her corporate internship.
Hubbard’s role within NASCAR’s partnership marketing team involved activating sponsor integrations across race‑week events. This was her first foray into a corporate‑focused environment, where she applied technical communication skills honed after shifting from a genetics major to a more narrative‑driven discipline.
Beyond the internship, Hubbard continues to excel on the track, posting personal bests of 1:20.80 in the indoor 600‑yard and 2:08.94 in the outdoor 800 meters during the 2026 season. Her athletic discipline mirrors the precision required in sports marketing, reinforcing a work ethic that she describes as foundational to her career aspirations.
A member and historian of Alpha Kappa Alpha, one of the Divine Nine sororities, Hubbard credits her Greek life experience with shaping her leadership style and mentorship approach. She often cites her younger brother as her primary motivator, driving her to balance academics, athletics, and professional responsibilities.
Reflecting on the internship, Hubbard emphasizes that the experience has equipped her with tools to manage and facilitate corporate partnership involvement at a high level. She hopes to carry these skills forward into a career that blends sports analytics with strategic communication, aiming to create meaningful connections between brands and fans.
