Free Youth Basketball Camp Supports Tornado Relief
Former University of Wisconsin Badger basketball standout Brian Butch is set to host a free youth basketball camp in Appleton, Wisconsin, on August 6th, inviting children from kindergarten through eighth grade to sharpen their skills on the court.
The two‑hour session will take place at the Champion Center, running from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and is limited to 200 participants who must register in advance.
Butch, who enjoyed a notable college career before playing professionally overseas, emphasized that the camp is entirely free to attend, with a suggested contribution of $25 per camper to support recovery efforts in the Fox Valley after recent tornadoes.
All monetary donations collected at the event will be funneled directly to the United Way Tornado Relief Fund, a partnership highlighted by the organizing group Sweat Equity Basketball, which has pledged its facilities and promotional support.
The United Way Tornado Relief Fund, accessible at unitedwayfoxvalley.org, has been at the forefront of disaster response in the region, channeling resources toward shelter, debris removal and rebuilding community infrastructure.
Organizers note that online contributions are also accepted via Venmo, allowing supporters beyond the local area to join the effort, while the Champion Center expressed gratitude for hosting the initiative.
