Spring Jamboree Recap
The Palm Bay Pirates concluded their spring program with a 24‑14 defeat at the hands of the Sebastian River Indians, a contest that swung back and forth before the visitors pulled ahead in the final quarter.
Early in the game the Pirates marched into the red zone on each of their first two drives, only to see the ball turned over on downs, squandering chances to take an early lead.
Quarterback Mik Zades proved the most reliable offensive weapon, completing 12 of 16 passes for 234 yards, a touchdown and an interception, while his connection with wideout Tim Sedaros yielded two scores.
Sedaros was the bright spot for Palm Bay, hauling in five catches for 135 yards and crossing the goal line twice, but the supporting cast could not sustain the early momentum.
Sebastian River answered with a ground game that amassed 197 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while their defense pressured the Pirates into multiple sacks, including a highlight reel hit on quarterback by Sam Sanders.
Looking Ahead
Head coach Kevin Mays praised the flashes of talent but stressed the need for better execution, tighter teamwork and additional work in the weight room as the squad heads into the summer.
The Pirates will use the lessons from the jamboree to fine‑tune their schemes and build chemistry before the next competitive window, hoping the early signs of offensive spark translate into a stronger fall season.
