Kansas City Athletics has announced a comprehensive branding overhaul that will guide the department’s identity and fan experience through the 2026‑27 men’s basketball season and beyond.
The strategy is built around three pillars — "Rooted," "The Big Leap," and "Bounce City" — each designed to reflect a distinct facet of the program’s relationship with the university, its alumni network, and the broader Kansas City community.
"Rooted" underscores the team’s deep connection to the city’s culture and the university’s traditions, positioning Kansas City as the core of the Roos’ narrative.
"The Big Leap" signals an ambitious vision for growth, aiming to elevate the athletics program’s profile and expand its impact across campus and the region.
"Bounce City" is intended to inject energy into game‑day atmospheres, especially within the basketball arena, capturing the excitement that defines the team’s personality.
A New Identity for the Roos
Season tickets for the upcoming campaign are now on sale at kcroos.com/MBBtix, with general admission starting at $119 and premium options for loge and reserved seating.
Fans who secure courtside spots or join the Roo Row will enjoy access to the Courtside Club, which provides complimentary food and beverages during games.
The Roos will host the majority of their home contests at Municipal Auditorium under new head coach Mark Turgeon, who brings a distinguished record of success to the role.
Dr. Brandon Martin, Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics, emphasized that the new branding framework offers a consistent foundation for communicating with fans, student‑athletes, donors, and campus partners.
Together, these elements aim to strengthen the department’s role as a representative of both the university and the city, fostering deeper engagement and support.
