The town of Centre is gearing up for a community‑focused soccer event that promises a lively afternoon of skill‑building and camaraderie for youngsters across the region.
Event Details
On Friday, August 14, the free youth soccer camp will kick off at 6 p.m. on the park’s Babe Ruth Field. Registration for participants will open at 5:30 p.m., giving families a chance to sign up on site.
Organizers and Partners
Centre Parks and Recreation is spearheading the camp in collaboration with Cherokee County High School Soccer, the Weiss Lake Soccer Association, and WEIS Radio AM 990 and FM 100.5. Together, these partners are providing coaching expertise, logistical support, and promotional outreach.
The camp is open to boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 12, regardless of skill level. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet local coaches and players, learn fundamental techniques, and enjoy a fun, active environment.
Additional Opportunities
Coaches and volunteers interested in helping out are encouraged to attend, as the event serves as a gateway to the upcoming youth soccer league. On‑site registration for the league will be available during the camp, streamlining the sign‑up process for families.
