Returning 17 veterans alongside nine newcomers, the squad blends experienced letter‑winners with a wave of transfers and freshmen. Coach Paul Cox emphasizes that the extra days have allowed the team to focus on specific improvements and to integrate the newcomers more smoothly.
The previous season ended with a 3‑13‑2 record and a ninth‑place finish in the Ohio Valley Conference, but the roster will look considerably different. All 1,620 goalkeeper minutes from 2025 are up for grabs, with redshirt sophomore Allie Lammers and freshman Amira Hendrick battling for the starting spot. In 2025, Claire Cress and Sofia Rodriguez combined for 91 saves, five shutouts and a .711 save percentage.
Offensively, the Eagles retain half of their scoring production and 62.5% of assists from the prior year. Sophomore forward Jade Walton, who logged 37 shots in 2025, is expected to shoulder a larger role, while transfers Ashton Lynam, OVC All‑Newcomer Ava Peck and Carly Gilbert are slated to add depth. Coach Cox highlighted measurable gains in fitness testing and a shift to a new defensive structure as bright spots. The 2026 slate features 13 games in the first 47 days and 12 contests against opponents that finished .500 or better in 2025, yet the team is guaranteed a berth in the eight‑team OVC Tournament in November.
