A Legendary Induction
Urban Meyer will be honored with a place in the University of Florida Football Ring of Honor when the Gators host Oklahoma on November 7, a ceremony that will spotlight the coach’s lasting imprint on the program.
Meyer’s decade at the helm produced two national titles in 2006 and 2008, along with a string of conference triumphs that helped reshape Florida’s identity as a powerhouse in the SEC.
The induction adds Meyer to a distinguished group that already includes Tim Tebow, Steve Spurrier, Wilber Marshall, Emmitt Smith, Danny Wuerffel, Jack Youngblood and others, cementing a legacy that stretches across generations of Gator greats.
During his tenure, Meyer compiled a 65‑15 overall record and a 36‑12 mark in SEC play, delivering a .813 winning percentage that ranks second in school history and setting a record with consecutive 13‑win seasons in 2008 and 2009.
The coach’s impact extended beyond wins, as his teams generated 57 All‑America honors, 113 All‑SEC selections and a 22‑game winning streak that stands among the longest in SEC annals.
The announcement of Meyer’s forthcoming honor was made during a campus salute on November 22, 2025, acknowledging his recent election to the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame and underscoring the breadth of his contributions to the university.
