Luke Combs wrapped up his My Kinda Saturday Night Tour in spectacular fashion, turning Wembley Stadium into the final stop of a run that had already shattered attendance records across the United States and Europe.
The tour, which kicked off with sold‑out shows at Ohio Stadium, Lambeau Field and Neyland Stadium, not only set new crowd benchmarks but also propelled his latest album, The Way I Am, to the top of the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and a respectable No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200.
A signature moment of the concerts has been the ‘shotgun a beer’ ritual during the song ‘1, 2 Many’, where Combs and a rotating lineup of guests crack open a cold one in unison.
The Wembley Backlash
At Wembley, the ritual took an unexpected turn when former England football captain John Terry was ushered onstage. Terry, a Chelsea legend whose career was marred by a 2011 racial‑abuse scandal and a much‑publicised affair allegation, was greeted by a wave of boos that quickly rose to become the night’s loudest reaction.
Witnesses said the boos were so pronounced that the stadium’s audio feed seemed to amplify them, and a fan‑posted video captured Terry kicking the empty can into the crowd after the toast.
