Former University of Wisconsin basketball standout Brian Butch is turning his love of the game into a charitable effort, announcing a basketball camp in Appleton aimed at raising money for tornado relief.
The Sweat Equity Basketball camp will take place Saturday morning at the Champion Center, running from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The event is open to the first 200 children in kindergarten through eighth grade who register, with admission offered free of charge and a suggested $25 donation.
All proceeds from the camp will be funneled directly to local tornado relief initiatives, providing critical support to families affected by the recent storms.
A Community United
Butch, who grew up in the area and remains deeply connected to his hometown, emphasized the resilience of Appleton residents, stating that the community’s strength lies in its willingness to help one another.
Several special guests are expected to attend the camp, adding star power to an event that underscores the role of sports in rebuilding communal bonds.
