A Summer of Dreams on the Diamond
The 2026 Little League World Series schedule spans more than a month, beginning with softball action in early August and culminating in baseball’s final showdown at the end of the month. Fans can follow a clear progression from regional contests to the ultimate championship games.
Softball’s Early Dominance
Softball competition kicked off on August 2, when the Southeast squad routed the Northwest 14‑0, setting a tone of dominance that would echo through the tournament. Teams representing Asia‑Pacific, the Mid‑Atlantic, Central, the West, Latin America, Europe‑Africa, North Carolina, the Southwest and Canada all entered the bracket, each vying for a place in the later rounds.
Baseball’s Road to the Crown
Baseball’s turn begins on August 19, when squads from Latin America, the Caribbean, Southeast, the Northwest, Canada, Asia‑Pacific, Metro and New England take the field. The early games usher in a series of elimination rounds that will whittle the field down to the final contenders.
Elimination play continues through August 20‑27, punctuated by the MLB Little League Classic on August 23, where the Atlanta Braves meet the Milwaukee Brewers at Historic Bowman Field. That exhibition showcases the talent on display and adds a professional flavor to the amateur showcase.
A Challenger Division Exhibition Game will be held on August 29, pitting Berwyn, Pennsylvania, against Oakley, California, highlighting the inclusive spirit of the event. The same day also features the International and United States Championship games for baseball, setting the stage for the World Series Championship on August 30.
