The University of Dayton’s men’s basketball team is entering the 2026‑27 season with a roster that looks entirely fresh, featuring nine players who are all in their first year with the program.
A Fresh Look for the Flyers
Six of those newcomers have already tasted college basketball at other institutions, having transferred from other programs, while the remaining three arrived as high school signees, bringing a blend of experience and raw talent.
Among the returning players, Amael L'Etang, Jaiun Simon and Malcolm Thomas logged significant minutes last season, providing a foundation of familiarity as the team works to weave new pieces together.
Coach and staff have centered their summer work on building cohesion, emphasizing teamwork and chemistry as the core objective before the first official games.
The Flyers have scheduled two exhibition contests in October: a showdown with Xavier at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio, and a home battle against Notre Dame at UD Arena, giving the squad a chance to test its chemistry in a competitive setting.
