Fairmont State University’s women’s soccer program is poised for another promising chapter after capturing the Mountain East Conference Championship last season. The team’s recent success has set a high bar, and the arrival of new assistant coach Corinne Grabow adds a fresh dimension to the squad’s ambitions for the 2026 campaign.
Grabow’s soccer journey began between the posts at Bethany College, where she established herself as a reliable collegiate goalkeeper. Following her playing days, she transitioned into coaching, spending time as a volunteer goalkeeper instructor for the North Marion High School boys’ soccer team. Those experiences honed her ability to create a positive, encouraging atmosphere that helps players unlock their full potential.
A Coach With Energy and Insight
Head coach Alex Zaroyan praised Grabow’s blend of enthusiasm and tactical understanding. He highlighted that her energy, passion, and deep grasp of collegiate-level success will be instrumental as the program looks to build on its recent triumphs and maintain momentum into the new season.
Beyond her on‑field expertise, Grabow’s extensive network across West Virginia soccer is expected to bolster recruiting efforts. Her local connections provide a unique advantage in identifying talent that can thrive within the program’s developmental framework.
Local Roots Fuel Recruiting Efforts
The coaching staff is already leveraging Grabow’s relationships to strengthen the roster for the upcoming fall season and beyond. As the team prepares for its season opener against Slippery Rock University on August 27, the blend of championship experience and new leadership promises an exciting start to the 2026 schedule.
