Front Office Overhaul Ahead of a Pivotal Season
The Minnesota Wild have announced a series of front‑office appointments that signal a deliberate effort to shore up the team’s infrastructure before the upcoming campaign. General manager Bill Guerin emphasized the importance of filling critical positions to maintain momentum after a challenging stretch.
Dan MacKinnon, who previously served as assistant general manager with the New Jersey Devils, will take on the role of assistant director of amateur scouting. His tenure with the Devils saw a comprehensive revamp of prospect development pipelines beginning in 2019, a track record that the Wild hope will translate into a deeper talent pool.
Joining the organization, Janik Belhcer brings European scouting experience accumulated at Elite Prospects and a stint as Director of European Scouting for a WHL franchise in Germany. His appointment as a European amateur scout is expected to broaden the Wild’s reach across the continent.
Elizabeth Hudson, formerly an administrative coordinator with the Wilkes‑Barre/Scranton Penguins, has been named executive assistant to Guerin. In her new capacity she will manage the day‑to‑day operations of the front office, ensuring that the team’s strategic initiatives stay on schedule.
These moves come at a time when the Wild are looking to replace the contributions of Judd Brackett, who recently departed for the Toronto Maple Leafs. By strengthening both scouting and administrative functions, the club aims to preserve stability while pursuing an aggressive development agenda.
