Stepan Timofeyev Commits to Kalamazoo Wings for 2026‑27 Season

The Russian forward adds depth and experience to the Wings' roster

The Kalamazoo Wings have secured the services of forward Stepan Timofeyev, inking him to a deal that will run through the 2026‑27 ECHL campaign.

A Proven ECHL Performer

At 30 years old, Timofeyev is entering his fifth year of professional hockey, a milestone that underscores a career built on steady progression from the lower tiers to the ECHL.

After honing his game in the Federal Prospects Hockey League and the SPHL, the Russian native made his ECHL debut with Norfolk in 2022‑23, posting 37 points in 43 games, and has since accumulated 159 points in 198 career appearances, including a standout 53‑point season in 2023‑24.

His most recent stint saw him split time between Greenville and Utah, contributing 25 points in 38 games, before the Swamp Rabbits acquired him in 2024, a move that culminated in a career‑high performance last season.

The Wings hope the veteran’s blend of size, skill and playoff experience will bolster their attack as they aim for a deeper playoff run next year.
