Wake Forest Unveils 2026‑27 Non‑Conference Schedule
Wake Forest’s women’s basketball program has unveiled its non‑conference slate for the 2026‑27 season, a schedule that blends home‑court familiarity with a handful of high‑profile road tests.
Schedule Highlights
The Deacons will open the season with a series of games at the LVJM Coliseum, where nine of the 13 non‑conference matchups are slated to take place, including contests against in‑state rivals UNC Asheville, Appalachian State and Elon.
Beyond the comfort of home, the lineup features challenging opponents such as Arizona State, Arkansas and a showdown in the Arizona State Invitational, where the Sun Devils reached the NCAA tournament last year.
Coach Gebbia, now in his second year, says the schedule is designed to sharpen the team early and build momentum heading into ACC play.
A Revamped Roster
A major factor in that preparation is the addition of new assistant coach Jimmy Colloton, whose defensive expertise is expected to tighten up a unit that showed promise last season but struggled against faster opponents.
The roster itself has been reshaped by both departures and arrivals. Key returnees like second‑leading scorer Mary Carter and standout Oshauna Holland, the 2026 Gatorade North Carolina Player of the Year, give the team a solid core.
Alongside them, returning players Aurora Sørbye, Madisyn Jordan and Grace Galbavy will continue to provide depth after seeing extensive minutes a year ago.
The program also welcomed three transfers — Breauna Ware from Wisconsin, Ramiyah Byrd from Cincinnati and Mckenzie Swanson from Butler — who bring experience from Power Five programs.
Joining the mix are four freshmen, headlined by Oshauna Holland, who averaged 34 points per game in high school and earned the Gatorade honor.
Defensive Focus
Coach Gebbia expressed confidence that the blend of veteran leadership, defensive upgrades and a demanding schedule will position the Deacons to exceed last season’s ACC tournament berth.
