A Revitalized Roster
The Carl Junction Bulldogs finished the 2025 campaign with a 7‑5 record, the highest win total the program has posted since 2017, and they are now looking to translate that momentum into an even more ambitious 2026 season.
Coach Todd Hafner has emphasized that the team’s greatest asset will be its blend of experience and athleticism, pointing to a roster that returns a host of standout performers on both sides of the ball.
Key Offensive Weapons
On offense, the Bulldogs will lean on junior receiver Bryant Hanks, who logged 41 catches for 661 yards and five touchdowns last year, earning second‑team All‑Ozark Mountain Conference honors, and junior running back Tadem Jones, who amassed over 600 yards rushing and receiving.
Sophomore lineman Kage Stewart, who shifted from tight end to center, and senior Aidan Lundien, who moved from center to tackle, give the line a new look, while senior kicker Mason Cowger brings proven clutch experience after earning first‑team all‑area recognition.
Defensive Strengths
Defensively, linebacker Sayre Sundy returns as a three‑year starter and first‑team All‑OMC selection, and cornerback Sam Coats, known for his length and speed, adds three interceptions and two defensive touchdowns from a year ago.
Senior cornerback Blayne Fleming and defensive frontman Logan Robbins also return, providing depth and experience to a unit that posted eight sacks and two defensive touchdowns in 2025.
Coach Hafner’s Vision
Coach Hafner said the team’s focus will be on competing hard each week, using the depth and speed of the returning group to stay ahead of opponents. He highlighted the importance of athleticism, noting that the Bulldogs will open the 2026 schedule at home against Nevada on September 4 before traveling to face Carthage, Neosho and Strafford.
The Bulldogs are also slated to meet Marshfield, Branson, Bolivar and Hillcrest later in the season, giving them a challenging but exciting slate as they look to improve on their recent success.
