The surge began early in the week when a regional soccer tournament drew large crowds to local fields, and several stray balls ended up smashing windshields across the town, prompting a flurry of insurance claims.
Adding to the chaos, loose sheep were spotted wandering Kearns Boulevard and Round Valley Drive, creating sudden hazards for drivers and forcing officers to corral the animals while traffic slowed.
