A Saturday of Football Fun at Turpin Stadium

Northwestern State will open its 2026 season with a community‑focused Fan Fest at Turpin Stadium on Saturday morning, inviting locals to experience the excitement before the first home game.

The event kicks off with a scrimmage at 8:30 a.m., where Demon football players run through a series of situational drills designed to sharpen their play before the season begins.

Season‑ticket holders can pick up physical tickets for the six‑game home schedule, beginning with the August 27 matchup against Louisiana Christian, while all attendees receive a complimentary 2026 football schedule poster.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., T‑Johnny’s Seafood Co. will serve pork chops, jambalaya, salad and rolls, and will hand out face‑painting stations and spirit bracelets as part of the giveaway festivities.

Whataburger will also contribute additional giveaways, and Vic’s Kids Club members who sign up by noon on Friday can collect special passes for the day’s activities.

Football fans will have a chance to meet the team during an autograph session at 11:30 a.m., while the soccer side of the program takes the field at 6:30 p.m. with a free exhibition match between Northwestern State and LSU‑Eunice at the university’s soccer complex.

The entire Fan Fest is open to the public at no cost, offering food, games and the opportunity to get a first look at the upcoming season’s schedule and roster.
