A Fresh Start for Football
Among the first wave of athletes are juniors Jakhi Hayden and Josiah Wright, who bring experience from James Monroe High School and Stafford High School respectively, and who are already making early impressions on the field.

Cheerleading newcomers Lilly McDaniel and Addy Douthitt, both recent transfers from Forge High School, are learning the school’s colors and chants while injecting fresh energy into the sidelines.

The marching band, a 35‑member ensemble that represents the school’s first foray into musical performance, debuted its halftime show on September 3, with sophomore saxophonist Quentin Gatewood expressing optimism that the group will soon become a staple of Hartwood’s game‑day atmosphere.
Principal Michael Kelly praised the collaborative spirit he has observed among the students, noting that the tight‑knit bonds forming across the football team, cheer squad, and band reflect a shared commitment to representing the new school.
