A Season of Promise for the Enfield Eagles
James Lyver enters his tenth year at the helm of Enfield High School, carrying a career record of 28‑62 but showing steady improvement each season.
The Eagles finished the 2024 campaign with a 6‑4 mark, falling just 25 points short of a playoff spot and ending a drought that dates back to 2003.
At the heart of the offense, senior quarterback Sawyer Pequita returns as an All‑Conference selection, having thrown for 1,427 yards and added 1,183 on the ground last year.
Complementing Pequita, junior wide receiver Cam Trotta brings 834 rushing yards to the mix, while junior offensive tackle Joel Budd, a 6‑foot‑8, 350‑pound two‑time All‑State lineman, anchors the line on both sides of the ball.
Defensively, the secondary will benefit from the experience of Isaiah Lawrence, a senior running back/linebacker who will also patrol the defensive backfield, alongside holdovers Dawa Sherpa and Travis Rivera.
The team’s schedule pits them against Tier 1 conference rivals such as Manchester and Fairfield Ludlowe, offering a rigorous test that could sharpen their playoff credentials.
With a core of returning talent and a coaching staff led by Lyver, Enfield hopes to translate its near‑miss into a postseason berth, potentially marking the first playoff appearance in over two decades.
