Burlington High School captured the 2026 Vermont Principals' Association unified basketball state championship on Saturday, edging Middlebury High School 44-31 in a tightly contested final.

Fritz Breynnon, who led the scoring with 14 points, took the opportunity to thank coaches Leonard, Howard, Phil, Dan and Laura for their guidance throughout the season, calling the experience "amazing".
Colton Murray and Connor Swan each added 10 points, while Blayde Gardley expressed joy at the win and reflected on the challenges faced against strong defensive schemes.
The team’s triumph was celebrated by students, families and local supporters, who gathered in the gymnasium to chant and present awards.
With the championship secured, the Tigers look ahead to next season, confident that the chemistry forged on the court will carry them forward.
