Mike Golic Sr., a former Notre Dame defensive lineman who helped lead the Fighting Irish to a 1984 national championship, is set to return to the university’s radio broadcasts as the color analyst for the 2024 football season.
After more than four decades away from South Bend, Golic will replace Ryan Harris, who stepped down after eight years as an offensive line analyst, bringing a deep personal connection and a wealth of experience from his days co‑hosting the popular Mike & Mike and Golic & Wingo shows on ESPN.
A Legacy Re‑joins the Airwaves
The new broadcast trio will pair Golic with play‑by‑play voice Tony Simeone and studio host Johnny Soper, creating a lineup that the athletics department believes will deliver sharp analysis and a nostalgic touch for longtime fans.
Jim Fraleigh, Deputy Athletics Director, praised Golic’s expertise and passion, noting that his presence will enrich the coverage with authentic insight and a direct link to the program’s history.
