The upcoming exhibition match between the Washington State women’s soccer team and Eastern Washington has been shifted to the Pullman campus and will now take place on Friday, August 7, at 11:30 a.m. The game is free and open to all WSU supporters and members of the Palouse community.
The relocation comes in response to deteriorating air quality in Cheney, and the contest will be played under a simplified format that includes only basic amenities such as restrooms and water fountains, streamlining the experience for players and spectators alike.
Coached by first‑year head coach Chris Citowicki, the squad comprises 31 student‑athletes, including 14 transfers, eight returning players and ten true freshmen, underscoring a blend of experience and new talent.
Season Opener Highlights
The team’s season officially opens with a home clash against Idaho on Wednesday, August 12, at 6 p.m., followed by a matchup against South Florida on Saturday, August 15, also at 6 p.m., marking a high‑profile start to the schedule.
