Michigan Technological University’s women’s basketball program has released its full schedule for the 2026‑27 season, marking the first major milestone under new head coach Eric Gruber.

A new era of Husky basketball

Gruber, who arrived in Houghton earlier this summer, has assembled a slate that blends home‑court comfort with challenging road trips, aiming to build on the program’s recent growth.

The season will feature 11 home games, giving fans ample opportunities to support the Huskies at the SDC Center, where the team hopes to turn the venue into a formidable fortress.

Conference play will consist of 20 GLIAC matchups, a divisional slate that includes rivals such as Winona State, Saginaw Valley State and Lake Superior State, ensuring a rigorous battle for playoff positioning.

Non‑conference road tests

The schedule opens with an exhibition game in East Lansing on October 28, where the Huskies will test themselves against Big Ten powerhouse Michigan State, followed by a home opener against Winona State on November 9 at 6:00 PM ET.

A few days later, Michigan Tech will travel to Wisconsin Dells for the JustAGame Crossover tournament on November 13‑14, facing opponents from the NSIC, GLVC and GMAC divisions in a high‑intensity showcase.

January will bring a trio of home contests against Wayne State, Saginaw Valley State and Lake Superior State, while the road schedule will see the Huskies journey to Northwood, Hillsdale, Ferris State, Davenport and Northern Michigan for additional GLIAC battles.

March showdowns

The regular season will culminate with the GLIAC tournament hosted on campus in March, where the Huskies will contest quarterfinal, semifinal and championship games in front of their home crowd, aiming to secure an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II playoffs.
