The University of Cincinnati’s basketball program has extended a scholarship to Isaiah Mack‑Russell, a 6‑foot‑3 guard from Winton Woods High School who is already generating buzz as one of the state’s top prospects in the class of 2027.
During his junior season the guard posted averages of 23.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 57 percent from the field in 21 Eastern Cincinnati Conference games, a performance that earned him the Southwest District Player of the Year honor.
A New Conference, New Opportunities
His upcoming senior year will see Winton Woods transition from the Eastern Cincinnati Conference to the Greater Miami Conference, a move that could further elevate his exposure. Rankings services place him at No. 5 among Ohio’s 2027 seniors and No. 171 nationally, while 247 Sports ranks him as the 29th best shooting guard in the country.
Mack‑Russell has already listed several Power 5 programs among his suitors, including Ohio State, Virginia, Michigan, Michigan State, Xavier, Dayton, Creighton, Washington, Nebraska and Arizona State. While a formal commitment date has not been announced, he is expected to continue visiting campuses over the summer before signing in November.
