A Strategic Addition to the Coaching Staff
Jermaine Blackmon has accepted a new role at Presbyterian College, where he will serve as assistant coach and director of player development for the men’s basketball program, reinforcing the staff with his extensive background in player growth and program culture.
His career includes a four‑year tenure at Boston College as director of player development and video coordinator, followed by two seasons at the College of Charleston where he progressed from video coordinator to walk‑on player and eventually bench captain.
During his time at the College of Charleston, Blackmon was part of the 2018 squad that captured the CAA Championship and earned an NCAA Tournament berth, experiences he shared with mentor Quinton Ferrell, a former player and coach who also achieved championship success.
Off the court, Blackmon holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the College of Charleston (2019) and a master’s in sports administration from Boston College (2022), underscoring his academic foundation.
He credits much of his professional philosophy to the mentorship of Quinton Ferrell, whose own championship and tournament experiences have shaped Blackmon’s approach to developing talent and fostering team cohesion.
In his new position, Blackmon will focus on developing athletes both on and off the hardwood, leveraging his strong interpersonal skills, loyalty and work ethic to reinforce Presbyterian’s culture and competitive aspirations.
Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, he joins a program poised to build on recent momentum, aiming to translate his developmental expertise into continued success on the national stage.
