Drexel University’s field hockey program received a boost this week as head coach Denise Zelenak announced the hiring of Kaitlyn Stewart as the team’s new assistant coach.
Stewart, who most recently served as a goalie coach for Krossfire Field Hockey Club, has built a reputation for refining individual goalkeepers’ skills and enhancing their game awareness on the field.
Before turning to coaching, she spent a year as an Athletic Communications Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania, where she managed press releases, curated social media content, and helped produce website material for the school’s athletic teams.
A 2021 Arcadia University alumna, Stewart was a starting goalkeeper for the Arcadia field hockey team and earned a bachelor’s degree in media and communications in May 2024.
Stewart’s Vision for the Program
In her remarks, Stewart said she is eager to join the reigning Colonial Athletic Association champions, noting that she wants to contribute to the team’s growth both during practices and in the broader campus community.
The appointment comes as Drexel prepares for the upcoming season, aiming to defend its CAA title while integrating new talent and strategic insights into the squad.
