After a debut season that ended with a 3‑7 record, the Bolivar Liberators are looking to build on the lessons learned under head coach Robert Clardy. The early results were modest, but the coaching staff sees the finish line in sight as the team moves into Clardy’s second year.
Quarterback Chapel Banner returns as the offensive centerpiece, having thrown for 1,242 yards and nine touchdowns last season. He will be joined by wide receivers Bradyn Long and Dorian Gonzales, who combined for 18 catches, 285 yards and a touchdown a year ago.
A versatile offensive approach
The Liberators plan to run a spread offense that asks many players to line up at receiver and tight end. This scheme is designed to create mismatches, stretch the field and give the offense more flexibility in play‑calling.
Defensively, the team will focus on keeping opponents off balance with multiple looks and aggressive pressure. Players like Kolt Hill, who contributed both as a running back and middle linebacker, are expected to anchor a unit that aims to confuse the opposition and keep the offense on its heels.
A packed August schedule
The Liberators will host a jamboree on August 21 that includes matchups against Parkview, Cassville and the Tigers. The regular season opens on August 28 at Osage, where the club hopes to showcase the improvements made during the offseason and to align the program across grades three through twelve.
