Wojciech Stachowiak brought his AHL campaign to a close with the Grand Rapids Griffins, capping a stint that began after his acquisition from the Tampa Bay Lightning and a subsequent trade to the Detroit Red Wings.

Stachowiak voiced his disappointment with the Red Wings’ handling of his NHL aspirations, noting that negotiations failed to produce a firm commitment despite his desire to remain in Detroit.
Now based in Gdansk, the Polish forward is using the off‑season to stay sharp, while fielding interest from clubs across North America as an unrestricted free agent.
In 15 games for the Griffins he recorded four goals and eleven assists, contributions that helped the team chase a Calder Cup run before their elimination in the Central Division final.
Though the playoff disappointment was a letdown, Stachowiak described the year as a valuable learning experience, emphasizing his mental resilience and optimism about landing a spot that can showcase his abilities at the highest level.
