A New Chapter for the Wildcats
The Milton High football team capped the 2025 season with a 10‑2 record, averaging 34.2 points per game and securing a share of the Bay State Conference Herget Division title. Quarterback Patrick Collins and receiver Ronan Sammon were named co‑MVPs of the division, with Collins setting a school record of 35 passing touchdowns and 43 total touchdowns, while Sammon amassed 1,191 receiving yards and 15 scores.
Head coach Steve Dembowski, who guided the Wildcats through that successful campaign, will now oversee a roster in flux. Nineteen seniors have graduated, leaving a young core that includes several key returners. Dembowski emphasized the importance of building chemistry early as the team transitions to a new‑look lineup.
A Demanding 2026 Schedule
The 2026 season opens with a marquee non‑league matchup against Marshfield on September 10, a game that promises to test the Wildcats against a traditionally strong opponent. Additional home contests include meetings with Natick on September 18, Diman on September 25 and Weymouth on October 29, while road trips are slated against Acton‑Boxboro, Needham, Walpole and Franklin throughout October.
The schedule also features participation in the MIAA state tournament period, culminating in a Thanksgiving contest at Braintree on November 26. The blend of local rivals and out‑of‑division opponents is designed to sharpen the team’s preparation for postseason play.
With the regular season winding down in late November, the Wildcats aim to carry the momentum from their record‑setting 2025 campaign into a competitive 2026 schedule. The combination of experienced coaching, returning talent and a challenging slate positions Milton High as a contender in the upcoming season.
