Memphis Grizzlies guard Jaylen Wells is set to host a two‑day basketball camp in Memphis on August 15‑16, opening the doors of the Memphis Sports & Event Center to boys and girls between the ages of nine and seventeen.
The camp carries a $200 fee per participant, and every dollar raised will be directed to SleepNation, the nonprofit Wells co‑founded to mentor under‑the‑radar basketball prospects and provide them with exposure.
Wells entered the NBA after being selected with the No. 39 overall pick in the 2024 Draft, and over two seasons he has averaged 11.4 points per game while starting 143 career games. Entering his third season, he is now the most experienced returning starter on the Grizzlies roster.
This is not Wells’s first camp this offseason; he previously ran a similar event in Sacramento, California, on August 7‑8, and the Memphis edition marks his second youth basketball clinic in the city this summer.
Wells is joined by several teammates who have also organized camps at the same venue. Scotty Pippen Jr. recently held a clinic in Bryant, Arkansas, alongside his father, Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, while Cam Spencer, Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. have each run their own sessions for local youth.
A Tradition of Giving Back
The Grizzlies organization has cultivated a strong culture of community outreach, with multiple players launching youth initiatives that combine skill development with charitable support. Taylor Hendricks and GG Jackson have partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis for back‑to‑school events, further extending the team’s impact beyond the court.
