Mylan Griggs, a four‑star wide receiver from Detroit’s Cass Tech, has officially pledged to join the Michigan Wolverines in the class of 2028 after the program extended a scholarship that aligns with his long‑term ambitions.
Known for his disciplined work ethic and humble demeanor, Griggs repeatedly emphasizes focus, trust in his coaches and family, and staying grounded despite the spotlight.
Under new position coach Micah Simon, the recruit has found a mentor whose energetic and methodical approach resonates with his own values; Simon described him as “sharp” and a “good boy,” praising his coachability and football IQ.
Early interest from Michigan, including visits to Ann Arbor in March and continued dialogue with the previous staff, signaled a sustained recruitment effort that kept the Wolverines on Griggs’ radar well before the formal offer arrived.
While Michigan remains a clear frontrunner, the recruit acknowledges that top Power‑5 programs such as Illinois, UNC, Texas Tech, Michigan State, Kentucky, Nebraska and Miami are also in the mix, promising a competitive decision process.
Griggs plans to attend at least one Wolverines game this fall, eager to experience the team’s tempo and play‑calling philosophy from both offensive and defensive perspectives, with the goal of contributing explosively on the field.
