Full Repave and Geometry
The centerpiece of the project is a complete repave of the 20‑year‑old racing surface, with $14 million allocated for the new pavement, while the track’s layout and banking will remain unchanged.
Funding and Timeline
Financing comes from a collaboration among NASCAR, the France family and an Iowa infrastructure grant, and construction is slated to begin after the current weekend’s races, with completion targeted for November 2026.
Fan Experience Upgrades
The upgrade will repave the main concourse and add new amenities near Turns 1 and 4, while the existing concert stage will be removed to create space for sponsor activations and expanded fan zones.
A New Date on the Calendar
The 2027 schedule will feature races on July 2, 3 and 4, culminating in the Cup Series event on Independence Day, giving Iowa one of the most prominent dates on NASCAR’s schedule.
This weekend the venue will host three races — ARCA Menards Series, Hy‑Vee Perks 250 and the Iowa Corn 350 — already sold out, underscoring strong demand and opening the door to future events such as potential IndyCar races.
