Memphis Tigers Unveil 2026‑27 Basketball Schedule

Men's and women's teams set conference slates with key matchups and non‑conference tests

The University of Memphis announced its full slate of games for the 2026‑27 men’s and women’s basketball seasons, confirming conference pairings and a demanding non‑conference slate.

Conference Matchups

Both squads will contest 18 American Conference games, with each of six opponents meeting twice — once at home and once on the road. The men’s team will host Tulane in New Orleans at FedExForum and Fogelman Arena, while also welcoming Tulsa, East Carolina and Rice on campus. Road trips will take the Tigers to FAU, Temple and UTSA.

Coach Penny Hardaway’s program draws five of the top six finishers from last season’s conference standings, including defending champion USF and runner‑up Wichita State, setting up a series of high‑profile contests.

Non‑Conference Challenges

The non‑conference schedule features home games against VCU, Louisville, Evansville, Grand Canyon and Utah State, while road trips include trips to Vanderbilt, Baylor and Texas. Neutral‑site events will see Memphis face Iowa State, Wake Forest, Mississippi State, Penn State and Dayton at predetermined venues.

Two non‑conference slots remain open, and preseason exhibitions are slated for Mississippi State and Arkansas. Memphis finished the 2025‑26 campaign with a 13‑19 record, tying for eighth in the conference.

Women’s Basketball Outlook

The women’s team will also play each of six conference rivals twice, meeting FAU, Charlotte and Wichita State among others. Home‑only opponents include UTSA, Temple and North Texas, while away‑only trips head to Rice, USF and East Carolina.

The schedule reflects a competitive landscape, with both programs poised to test themselves against strong regional opponents as they aim for postseason contention.
