After a lengthy journey, the players arrived in the Palmetto State, where they were welcomed by a vibrant community and a schedule that blended competition with cultural exchange.
Exploring Clemson’s Campus
During their stay, the squad toured Clemson University’s athletic facilities, gaining rare access to the campus’s training grounds, and used the opportunity to film introductory segments for ESPN+ broadcasts that will accompany the series.
On the Field
The team opened the tournament with two defeats, falling 9‑0 to the Southeast team and 11‑1 to the South Carolina District 1 side. Despite the scores, Coach Lance Siebert emphasized the squad’s sportsmanship, chemistry and the maturity they displayed throughout the matches.
Players such as Espen McFadden described the atmosphere as friendly and supportive, noting positive interactions with international opponents, including a Hawaiian team, and the chance to participate in a talent contest and other non‑baseball activities.
