Arlington’s Arruda Basketball Club Launches Fall Season with Tryouts and Leagues

Tryouts set for August 10 and 17; season runs through October 29, offering competitive teams and 3v3 divisions for youth.

Arruda’s Basketball Club, known as ABC, is gearing up for its third fall season in Arlington, with tryouts scheduled for August 10 and 17.

The season will run from August 31 through October 29, offering competitive travel teams alongside 3v3 leagues that cater to younger players and multi‑sport athletes.

Program Structure and Participation

Grades 1‑2 meet once a week, while grades 3‑4 practice four nights per week and grades 5‑10 hold two sessions each week. Girls are welcome at all tryouts, and several have previously earned spots in the 3v3 leagues.

Last year more than 145 local athletes participated in ABC’s spring and fall programs, reflecting the club’s expanding reach.

Coaching Team

ABC was founded by Josh Arruda, a former Marymount assistant coach now at Connecticut College, and is overseen by Director Luke Moritz. The staff includes former and active Marymount players, with Kyle Boettner serving as lead trainer and 16U head coach.
