The Lake Highlands Wildcat football program is entering a pivotal season, having graduated a record 44 seniors last year and welcoming a historic freshman class of 106 players. Summer camps have drawn over 400 participants, signaling a deepening talent pool and a renewed focus on development.
New district realignments have placed the Wildcats against familiar rivals from Plano ISD and Coppell High, reshaping the schedule and presenting fresh challenges that the coaching staff believes will test and strengthen the team.
Central to the program’s philosophy is the motto “WIN: What is Important Now,” a daily reminder that progress is measured in each practice, each drill, and each moment of commitment.
Among the standout figures is senior linebacker Mason Busch, who has battled two ACL tears yet returned to the field through grueling rehabilitation, embodying the resilience the team seeks to instill.
The Exchange Club recently honored the tradition of the Bell Boys, presenting honorary megaphones to Charlie Allen, Garner Reese, Charlie Mars and Luke Woodard for their role in celebrating every Wildcat score.

Coach Cory Campbell, who has guided the squad through this transitional period, emphasizes that the combination of experienced leadership, a growing roster, and a culture of perseverance will define the Wildcats’ outlook as they aim to compete fiercely in the upcoming season.
