The Emery Lady Spartans opened their 2026 campaign on Thursday night in Castle Dale, hosting the Richfield Wildcats for their first home match of the season.
Richfield struck early, netting all nine goals in the opening half and building a commanding lead before the break.
A Rough Start
Despite a valiant defensive effort, the Spartans were unable to find the back of the net, leaving the scoreboard untouched.
The 9‑0 loss dropped Emery’s record to 0‑2, and the team now faces a two‑game home stand against the Delta Rabbits on Tuesday and the Enterprise Wolves on Thursday, both scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.
Looking Ahead
The coaching staff emphasized the need to capitalize on scoring opportunities and tighten defensive organization as the schedule progresses.
