NASCAR has lifted the curtain on the first 17 dates of the 2027 Cup Series calendar, confirming a mix of traditional staples and new experiments. The lineup opens with the preseason Clash and the spring All-Star Race, both of which will anchor the early season narrative.
The February slate is already set, featuring the iconic Clash at Daytona, the Daytona 500 and a return to Atlanta Motor Speedway, giving fans a familiar trio to start the year.
February Showdowns
These races set the tone for the championship, blending historic ovals with modern amenities and offering teams critical early points that can influence playoff positioning.
March and April Slate
March brings a pair of road-course events, with Austin’s Circuit of the Americas and Phoenix Raceway slated to test drivers on technical layouts that differ from the traditional oval fare. April’s schedule includes a return to Bristol Motor Speedway, a short track known for its high-octane racing, while other dates remain to be determined as series officials continue negotiations.
May Matchups
May will see the historic Talladega Superspeedway and Texas Motor Speedway confirmed, alongside Charlotte Motor Speedway, which will host a pivotal event as the series heads into its mid-season stretch.
Summer and Fall Highlights
July’s calendar highlights Iowa Speedway and a second visit to Atlanta, while August locks in Bristol and Daytona again, underscoring the importance of those venues to the season’s rhythm. September’s lineup begins with Darlington Raceway, kicking off the Chase for the Championship, and also includes New Hampshire Motor Speedway, both of which have been officially secured.
Uncertainties Remain
Despite the progress, several high-profile venues remain in flux. It is still unclear whether NASCAR will renew its agreement with Naval Base Coronado or bring Chicagoland Speedway back into the fold for a second consecutive year.
Rumors also circulate about a possible swap between North Wilkesboro Speedway and Dover Motor Speedway, with Dover potentially hosting a regular-season race and North Wilkesboro slated to carry the All-Star event.
Series officials have emphasized that the full schedule is still being finalized, with input from track owners, sponsors and broadcast partners shaping the final order.
