Troy Fisher, a standout athlete from Liberty North High School in Missouri, has agreed to a minor league contract with the Atlanta Braves, ending his collegiate eligibility and moving him into the professional ranks as a shortstop.
High School Highlights
During his senior season he batted .364, hit six home runs, added six doubles and drove in 21 runs over 28 games. His performance earned an honorable mention on the Class 6 All‑State team selected by the Missouri Baseball Coaches Association, while external rankings placed him as the 395th overall prospect for the 2024 draft by Baseball America and 308th overall by Perfect Game.
Professional Transition
The Braves signed Fisher as an undrafted free agent, initially listing him as an infielder and catcher before converting him to a shortstop. His departure leaves the University of Arkansas baseball program with 41 scholarship‑eligible players slated to report for fall practice beginning September 9, 2024.
What’s Next
Fisher will report to the Braves’ development system, where he will compete for a roster spot in the coming months. Meanwhile, the Razorbacks will build around a deep returning core, aiming to remain competitive in the SEC.
