Ohio Valley Conference Announces 2026‑27 Basketball Schedule
The Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) has released its full slate of games for the upcoming 2026‑27 men’s and women’s basketball seasons, setting the stage for a competitive conference schedule across its member institutions.
For Morehead State, the schedule features an eight‑game home slate for both the men’s and women’s teams, with the early portion of the conference calendar heavily weighted toward contests at Johnson Arena.
A Home‑Heavy Start
The Eagles open the season on December 30 with a home matchup against UT Martin, then enjoy a stretch of three consecutive victories over Eastern Illinois (January 7), Lindenwood (January 9) and Southern Indiana (January 13).
Five of the first seven conference games are played on campus, giving the teams a chance to establish rhythm and build early momentum.
Later in the year, the schedule turns challenging, as four of the final five league contests are slated for road venues, including trips to Tennessee State, USI, Western Illinois and Eastern Illinois.
The annual Blue‑Gold Weekend and Hall of Fame ceremonies are slated for February 6, adding a celebratory backdrop to the mid‑season push.
Looking Ahead
Both programs arrive with recent successes to build upon; the men’s team captured an OVC co‑regular season championship in 2025‑26, while the women’s squad posted its highest conference finish since the 2018‑19 season, finishing fourth.
The upcoming season offers the men a chance to defend their co‑championship and the women an opportunity to break new ground, making the 2026‑27 schedule a focal point for fans across the region.
