The NASCAR Canada Series is set to return to the historic Trois‑Rivières street circuit this weekend, bringing its newest 1.53‑mile paved road course into the spotlight for the Le 45 Tours CarGurus event.
A New Format for a Classic Venue
What makes this weekend different is the series’ unconventional qualifying schedule, which uses a group‑based system to set the front row and then splits the rest of the grid into two 15‑lap sprint races that determine the remaining starting positions.
Reigning champion Andrew Ranger enters the weekend with a strong pedigree at the venue, having led 43 of 63 laps last season before finishing second behind Marc‑Antoine Camirand, who started from pole.
Camirand now leads the championship standings by 54 points over Kevin Lacroix, who has also tasted victory twice this year, including a rain‑shortened race where he completed 66 laps under caution.
The on‑track action begins with a one‑hour practice session on Saturday morning, followed by group qualifying from noon to 12:40 p.m. ET, which will lock in the top two starters.
The sprint races, featuring odd‑ and even‑numbered qualifiers on separate tracks, will award bonus points and a $5,000 prize to the top‑five finishers, with first place earning five points.
The main event, Le 45 Tours CarGurus, is scheduled to start at 2:10 p.m. ET on Sunday and will be streamed live on REV TV Canada and the NASCAR Canada YouTube channel, giving fans across North America a chance to watch the action.
Teams will run with a maximum of five tires — one set reserved for practice and four for qualifying and the race — while a single set of wet‑condition tires must be staged in each pit stall for the weekend’s sessions.
