Chiara Premoli, a senior midfielder for Eastern Kentucky University, has been selected for the United Soccer Coaches 2026 NCAA Division I Midfielders to Watch List, marking the third consecutive year she has earned national preseason acclaim.
The honor places her among 45 midfielders nationwide and makes her one of just 16 players from mid‑major programs to appear on the watch list, underscoring her status as one of the most decorated midfielders in EKU history.
A Career Defined by Records
Premoli’s senior season builds on a collegiate résumé that includes All‑South Region honors in each of the past two years and a historic distinction as the first player in EKU history to receive that recognition twice. She was named Second Team All‑ASUN in both seasons and has collected multiple conference player‑of‑the‑week and all‑tournament accolades.
During the 2025 campaign she dished out eight assists, fueling 30 goals — nearly 27 % of the Colonels’ scoring output. Her 16 career assists stand as the program’s all‑time record, surpassing both single‑game and single‑season marks she set earlier in her tenure.
She opened the season with six assists in the first five matches, delivering multi‑assist performances against East Tennessee State and Morehead State. Those displays earned her her first ASUN Player of the Week award, a testament to her immediate impact.
A Crucial Opening Test
The Colonels will kick off the 2026 schedule on August 12 against Cincinnati, a match that will be streamed live on ESPN+. The game represents a pivotal early test for Premoli and her teammates as they look to translate preseason buzz into on‑field results.
Coach Jordan LeVasseur, who also earned preseason recognition, will be among those watching closely as Premoli attempts to extend her assist streak and guide the team toward a competitive campaign in the ASUN Conference.
